This Privacy Policy explains how Boda Brands OÜ ("GEO Rise", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the GEO Rise application for Shopify (the "App") and the website at georise.app (the "Site"). GEO Rise is a tool for Generative Engine Optimization that helps Shopify merchants understand and improve how AI assistants represent their store.
If you are a merchant using the App, you remain responsible for your own customers' data under your own privacy policy. This document describes what we do with data we process on your behalf and on our own behalf.

Information we process
Merchant store data
When you install the App, we access parts of your Shopify store through Shopify's Admin API, using the permissions you grant at installation. This can include your products, collections, blog posts, metafields and SEO fields, market and translation settings, and storefront search terms. We use this to score your store, generate files such as llms.txt, run audits and simulations, and write back improvements such as meta descriptions, alt text, and structured data when you ask us to.
Order data for revenue attribution
If you enable revenue attribution, the App reads limited order information when an order is placed: the order total, the currency, the landing page, and the referring source, including whether the visit came from an AI assistant. We use this only to attribute orders to AI referrals so you can see which sales started from AI search. We do not collect or store your customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, or shipping or billing addresses. We request the minimum order data needed for this feature and nothing more.
AI referral signal on your storefront
To detect when a shopper arrives from an AI assistant, the App places a first-party cookie named __geo_rise_ai_ref in the shopper's browser and stores a matching cart attribute. This cookie holds only the name of the referring AI platform and a timestamp. It contains no personal information and is kept for up to 30 days. If you use this feature, you should reference this cookie in your own storefront cookie and privacy disclosures.
Merchant contact information
We process the email address associated with your store to send service messages and, if you opt in, weekly insight emails. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Website information
On georise.app, if you submit your email through a signup form, we store that email so we can contact you about GEO Rise. We measure site traffic with Plausible Analytics, which is privacy friendly and does not use cookies or collect personal data.
How we use information
We use the information above to provide and operate the App and the Site, to score and improve your store's AI readiness, to track and report your visibility across AI assistants, to attribute revenue to AI referrals, to send you service and insight emails you have not opted out of, to provide support, and to keep our service secure and reliable. We do not sell your data or your customers' data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Service providers and AI subprocessors
We rely on a small set of providers to run GEO Rise. We share only the data each one needs to perform its function.
- Anthropic, for the AI models that power audits, simulations, content generation, and tracking. Store content such as product information and page text is sent to Anthropic for processing.
- OpenAI and Perplexity, used only when those AI platforms are enabled for tracking and simulation, for the same purpose.
- Resend, to deliver our emails.
- Neon, our database host, and Render, our application host, which store and process data to run the service.
- Reddit and Shopify analytics queries, used to gather public, non-personal signals that suggest relevant tracking prompts.
- Plausible, for cookieless website analytics on georise.app.
Each provider processes data under its own terms and security commitments.
International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, for these transfers.
Data retention
We keep the data we process only as long as needed to provide GEO Rise to you. When you uninstall the App, we delete the data associated with your store. We also honor Shopify's mandatory data privacy requests, including customer data requests, customer redaction, and shop redaction, and we act on verified deletion requests.
Data security
We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, and we limit access to the data needed to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Merchants can exercise most of these rights directly by managing or uninstalling the App, or by contacting us at socialshopscontact@gmail.com. If a shopper wants to exercise rights regarding data processed through a merchant's store, they should contact that merchant, who can reach us to act on the request.
Children
GEO Rise is a business tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top. We will communicate significant changes through the App or the Site.
